Hello! My name is Ali and I love to cook healthy meals (and occasionally bake unhealthy desserts). I was born and raised in a small mountain town, Aspen, CO. I moved to Denver to study business and finance at the University of Denver, and I absolutely love living in the city. I enjoy frequent trips up to the mountains where I spend time with my family and partake in outdoorsy activities. My hobbies include cooking, hiking, pilates, yoga, travel, biking, and skiing. Things I eat and drink often: almond butter, chocolate, tequila and coffee. I will never say no to good Mexican food, dark chocolate, a strong cappuccino, wine, or a spicy marg!
I graduated in June 2015 with a degree in Finance with a minor in Business Management from the University of Denver. I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs and love the idea of building something from the ground up. Along with my interest in business, I love of researching health and nutrition because I strongly believe eating healthy and being active is not something people should take for granted. In my spare time, I’m attempting to learn the ropes as food photographer while engineering the mechanics behind my food blog. I enjoy spending time researching and crafting recipes to make them uniquely mine.
ABOUT KERR KITCHEN
I started Kerr Kitchen in 2015. My blog is full of healthy, delicious, and non-restricting gluten-free recipes (unless noted otherwise). Although my blog focuses on gluten-free, anyone can enjoy my recipes… I mean, who can say no to Crème Brûlée or Molten Lava Cakes? You will find a variety of recipes on this blog from Dulce De Leche Cheesecake Bars to Butternut Squash Kale Salad. I cook with fresh local ingredients (where I get produce from farmers markets in the spring/summer), and love to experiment with different cuisines. In addition, you may also notice many of my recipes are grain free or have grain free options. I have been gluten-free since 2011 and notice a big difference in my health when I’m eating fresh berries and vegetables, salads, and lean protein. Often times I get really inspired, and will be in the kitchen all day cooking up something special, but the majority of my recipes are healthy, nutritious, and require minimal effort.
